missed opportunities

not that anyone cares, but can i just vent on how many concerts are happening in the next two months, two of which are occurring during spring vacation?:
an horse: 4/20 @middle east
vampire weekend: 4/22 @smith college
thao with the get down stay downs: 5/13 @T.T. the bears place.

i might cry because i won't be able to make any of these concerts/no one would go with me/no one would drive me.
may i just mention that i am concert deprived? and also tegan and sara deprived? they are in their cd-making hibernation. the only thing i can look forward to is their series of books that are going to be released in the late spring.

So people who actually read this might know that I am an avid listener of the podcast, How Stuff Works, hosted by Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant.
Very recently, the How Stuff Works website updated the contents of the website, reworking the appearance, adding blogs, and adding pictures of How Stuff Works staff. Now, this last latter addition is what really why I am writing this entry.
With podcasts and radio stations, we only hear the voices of the hosts and never see their faces. Eventually, we assign a face to these voices or at least imagine who these voices belong to. As I have been listening to How Stuff Works, I've imagined what Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant look like. As much as I wanted to know what they look like in real life, I was disappointed when I saw their pictures on the website. They looked nothing like how I imagined them.
What really bothers me is that now I can't picture Josh and Chuck talking how they talk. I can't assign their respective voices to their faces. It's going to bother me forever unless I meet them and see them actually talking.
I guess this is the same with any person who you've never met before and only heard his or her voice. You imagine them how you want them to look like. But when you actually see this person, it's a bit distressing.
Anyway, I just wanted to express this phenomenon/not phenomenon. I just needed to get it off of my mind and onto something physical. The End!

11:11 make a wish.
its not gonna be 11:11 when this gets published. that's sad
my back is currently peeling from the nicaraguense sun. i miss it. i miss brittany. i miss nena. i miss 50 cent ice cream.
got the latest modest mouse cd, finally.
taking mock SAT tomorrow. maybe i should go to sleep now?
still havent posted nicaragua pictures up yet. maybe i should do that? they are just all out of order when they got copied on my computer. i hate disorganized things. and i dont have time to organize them.
im gonna be packed until tuesday.
i wanna go to the an horse concert in april-during vacation. it is possible?
selection of courses. so many awesome courses, so little time.
im in a mood of telling everyone what's on my mind. but theres 3 things i cant tell/slightly dont want to tell.
i hate when i write like this.
i want a new ipod, need more memory for all my stupid podcasts. but i love my mini dont have money?
in this economy, we have to spend money. that's what we learned in history today.
this is like writing therapy. just writing what comes into my mind.
i dont know what to do with myself sometimes.
im still a big fan of stuff you should know podcast. i love the josh and chuck so much.
i need to read jonah lehrer, now.
ms. nortons not gonna be here for 3 classes in a row. excitement/sleep?
i am tan.
my arms are burnt toast, but only on one side.
i actually miss tiny ants running around.

It's beautiful here in Nicaragua! Weather is like 80-90 degrees, windy, next to the beach (i know that's not a description of the weather, but whatever)

Today, we visited four schools around San Juan del Sur and gave them school supplies and lollipops. They are so adorable and friendly. Their lifestyle is so different from ours, it's crazy. In the afternoon, we organized more school supplies for tomorrow. We're going to other schools farther away tomorrow. Exciting!

I'm staying with Erika in this awesome place. The lady there, Nena, is sooooo nice its ridiculous. They have a little girl there named Francesca and we play with her all the time. so cute

my time is running out! ttfn

6 more days until Nicaragua! I'm so excited!!! It actually doesn't feel like I'm going anywhere. I guess that's a good and bad thing. If I do feel like I'm going somewhere, I'll start to slack off in school, which always happens to me.
I am so happy that the awesome person who visited me (Ms. Conrad) brought so much school supplies for us! When I brought it to Mr. Parlin, he didn't seem that surprised, but whatever. Now we get to bring all this stuff for the children in Nicaragra!
I was talking to my dad about Central America, and he said that one of his co-workers went to Honduras, which borders Nicaragra (I think). This co-worker bought a $40 box of pens and pencils. He said that the children there have like one pencil per class. They have to pass around a pencil to write stuff down. . We are totally taking what we have for granted.

Anyway, so Mr. Kozuch is gone to Indonesia, and we have Mr. Rikleen for a teacher. He gave us two sections of history (14 pages) of notes to do, while Kozuch gives us one.. And Mr. Rikleen's lectures are kinda weird...but he's funny, so it's all good.
I'm actually procrastinating on those history notes right now...
